UC Merced’s University Communications has launched Newsroom, a revamped news website housing information for the campus community and the general public.
In addition to cosmetic improvements, the site’s launch coincides with the department’s new approach to covering the news at UC Merced and sharing it with the university’s most important audiences.
“These changes are a direct result of the communications survey we conducted in the spring,” said Ed Klotzbier, associate chancellor and chief of staff. “We heard from students, faculty and staff about what kinds of news they want to read and how they want to receive it. Today marks our first step toward enhancing the work we do based on that feedback.”
Two new email products for the campus community — but also available to subscribers from outside of the university — will be launching soon. Weekly Update, which will land in inboxes every Friday, will provide a quick recap of the biggest news of the week by way of media clips, university news stories, social media highlights, upcoming events and more. Merced Monthly is a monthly email that will include feature stories, multimedia and guest columns to shine a light on various aspects of the UC Merced vision and mission.
