Provide a brief history of your work experience, beginning with your present position:
Currently I advise on any disability matters for staff and faculty members. I have been working in Human Resources for over 10 years with a core interest in helping both employers and employees thrive in their careers by promoting a positive and welcoming environment. In my past experience I was responsible for all charitable and employee engagement activities. We were able to host monthly fundraisers and events to build moral and promote a positive environment.
List any UC, committee, community service, or other major volunteer commitments, including the name of the organization and your role (especially leadership roles) therein:
I serve as a mentor for troubled youth for Catholic Charities Diocese of Stockton.
President of the Central Valley DMEC (Disability Management Employer Coalition) chapter.
In the past year, how have you played an active role in Staff Assembly? This can include committee work, participating in events, or attendance at Executive Board meetings:
I have attended a few meetings via zoom.
If you are selected to fill this role, what do you feel would be your contribution to the University of California, Merced, staff, and the Executive Board? How have your past experiences given you the knowledge and skills to provide this contribution?
If selected for this role I feel that I would contribute my positive energy and hard work ethic to engage others on campus in the positive experience they will have working at UC Merced. In the past and still to this day I have encouraged individuals to be the best they can and to not dwell on the negative areas and they will pass or can be corrected. With a small group of volunteers we were able to raise over $15,000 every year for different charitable events like Susan G Komen, Autism, American Hear Association, Unity Way, local youth and internal scholarships for employee's children.
