Provide a brief history of your work experience, beginning with your present position:
I joined UC Merced's staff in November 2012 as an Academic Personnel Analyst in the Provost's Office. In June 2015, I accepted a position in the Human Resources Office where I currently serve as an Employee and Labor Relations Consultant. Prior to joining UCM I worked in the Office of the Vice President for Administration & CFO at California State University, Fresno as a Confidential Assistant.
List any UC, committee, community service, or other major volunteer commitments, including the name of the organization and your role (especially leadership roles) therein:
I am currently serving as a staff representative on the Organizational Efficiencies and Sustainability Work Group, assisting with the development of the University's multi-year hiring plan.
While I was at Fresno State, I served a one-year term as a Host Committee Member for the Western Association of College and University Business Officers (WACUBO).
In the past year, how have you played an active role in Staff Assembly? This can include committee work, participating in events, or attendance at Executive Board meetings:
In the past year, I have played an active role in Staff Assembly by volunteering to participate as a staff representative on the Organizational Efficiencies and Sustainability Workforce Planning subgroup. I have also participated in several events hosted by Staff Assembly or where staff assembly have had a presence such as Elizabeth's Garden Fundraisers, Annual Scholars Lane Bridge Crossing, Staff Appreciation Week events, and Staff Convocation/Town Hall Meetings.
If you are selected to fill this role, what do you feel would be your contribution to the University of California, Merced, staff, and the Executive Board? How have your past experiences given you the knowledge and skills to provide this contribution?
In my current role, I have had the opportunity to speak with several staff members from all areas of the University, many of whom have shared their concerns, thoughts, and ideas with me regarding our campus. Having worked closely with staff and other senior leaders in both of our state's university systems, I believe that I can contribute to fostering continued engagement and collaboration between UC Merced's staff and the Administration.
