Provide a brief history of your work experience, beginning with your present position:

Online Engagement Director, UC Merced (2015-Present)

Web Communications Specialist, UC Merced (2012-2015)

Ind. Communications Consultant, Self-Employed (2007-Present)

Senior Public Information Representative, UC Merced (2007-2010)

List any UC, committee, community service, or other major volunteer commitments, including the name of the organization and your role (especially leadership roles) therein:

At UC Merced, I've served on a variety of hiring committees and working groups. I am currently a founding member of the Social Media Alliance, Social Media Users Group and the Campus Communications Council. I've served as president of the Parent-Teacher Club at Fremont Elementary School since 2015, and I've volunteered as the Northern California leadership coach for MOPS International since 2014. The latter two positions require me to oversee organizational budgets and financial planning.

In the past year, how have you played an active role in Staff Assembly? This can include committee work, participating in events, or attendance at Executive Board meetings:

I am wrapping up my second term as Co-Communications Chair, which has given me the opportunity to serve as a member of the Staff Assembly Executive Board and participate in a number of campus activities. Within my current Staff Assembly role, I maintain the organization's website and social media accounts, and assist with presenting at New Employee Orientation, messaging and public relations efforts as needed.

If you are selected to fill this role, what do you feel would be your contribution to the University of California, Merced, staff, and the Executive Board? How have your past experiences given you the knowledge and skills to provide this contribution?

As Finance Officer-Elect, I believe that I will be able to provide the board with general assistance when and where it's needed. Given that the Finance Officer bears the brunt of the financial management role on the Executive Board, I feel that while learning this position, I could spend the next year providing support to other officers with more intensive roles. My volunteer experiences outside of UC Merced have put me in charge of managing budgets and reporting income and expenses on a regular basis.
