I am currently a member of Soroptimist International of Merced and Co-Chair the Orientation and Education Committee. Past positions in the Merced community include: President, Vice President and Corresponding Secretary for Soroptimist International of Merced, Merced Chamber of Commerce Board member and I have served in various committee positions for the Chamber and Soroptimist. committees
I served on the Staff Excellence Awards Committee this year and for the previous two years. I have actively participated in Staff Assembly events both at UC Merced and on previous campuses where I worked.
My previous UC Staff Assembly experience includes two years as President of UCR Staff Assembly 1995-1996 and 1998-1999; UCR Staff Assembly Vice-President 2000-2001, 3 years on the CUCSA board as a UCR delegate and I served as CUCSA Recording Secretary in 1999-2000.

I am committed to creating solutions and implementing programs that foster staff morale and create a better workplace and work experience for staff. I bring many years of UC experience to the position and have a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities that a growing campus faces. It is important that UC Merced Staff Assembly is well-informed and aligned with strategic systemwide and campus programs in order to successfully support our changing workplace.
Under my UCR Staff Assembly leadership I initiated the Chancellor's Committee on Campus Morale and developed campus Principles of Community. This initiative helped foster a more positive campus climate as UCR continue to expand. While I served on CUCSA, some of the programs we implemented or made progress towards included Domestic Partner benefits, Faculty/Staff Partnerships, Educational Fee Waiver and Staff Advisor to the Regents which was approved in 2007. I have served on many special committees as a staff representative such as UCR Diversity Advocates, UCLA Recruitment and Retention, Outstanding Staff and Service Award committees.
I would appreciate the opportunity and privilege to serve as Staff Assembly President and if elected I will do my best to be a positive and successful advocate for staff.
