While I have only been with UC Merced less than two years I am somewhat limited in my exposure to various UC committees to this point. I have volunteered for full day duties for the HR sponsored annual events I have been privileged to be a part of (UC Walks, Wellness & Safety Fair, Open Enrollment/Benefits Fair). I find great personal satisfaction being able to connect and engage staff employees at all level and my background taught me special appreciation for the frontline workforce that staff employees fill. In the past I have participated with various community service efforts representing Leadership Merced, and my local church.

In the past year, how have you played an active role in Staff Assembly? This can include committee work, participating in events, or attendance at Executive Board meetings:

I have not played a direct active role with Staff Assembly in the past year. In fact, I am just now becoming more familiar with Staff Assembly and its role on campus, and my interest has been inspired by recent conversation with my supervisor, AVC Brian Powell.

If you are selected to fill this role, what do you feel would be your contribution to the University of California, Merced, staff, and the Executive Board? How have your past experiences given you the knowledge and skills to provide this contribution

If selected I will bring a strong desire to fulfill the responsibilities of the Secretary position at a high level and with my actions and personal conduct I hope to present myself as a positive support to the University of California, its staff, and the Executive Board. Since joining UC Merced I have been actively engaging staff employees and my campus clients to leverage my public and private sector experiences to the common benefit of campus leadership, staff, and students. My previous professional experiences provide me with broad knowledge and skills to engage our objectives and challenges with a spirit of collaboration and enthusiasm.
