I am a Computer Lab Manager, in the Information Technology Department at UC Merced. As one of the "founding staff", I was privileged to have the opportunity to see the campus being built and helped to shape the instructional computing support services. I am responsible for administering campus computer labs and services; installing, configuring, and maintaining computer lab hardware, software, and supervision of 15 student staff employees, including communications, performance maintenance and employee relations. I have written several technical training guides now available on the IT website. I coordinate with representatives from each college to determine the needs of the faculty teaching in the computer classrooms and work with the Academic/IT Planner to evolve relevant computer lab strategies. Responsible for maintaining and administering over 300 computer systems in 7 computer labs. Project Manager for the myBox implementation project for the campus.
Prior to UC Merced, I have worked at Weaver Union School District and Dos Palos Oro Loma Unified School District, Merced College and the State of Califonia, Department of Water Resources.
Currently hold the position of Chair for Communications on the Staff Assembly Executive Board. I also volunteer for various church, outreach and community service activities.
I am the current Chair for Communications on the Executive Board. I attend Executive Board Meetings, Town Halls and General Meetings. I actively participate in several committees: Child Care Advisory Committee, Excellence Awards Committee, Staff Appreciation Week Committee. I participated in various Executive Search committees as well.
Based on the two years experience holding the position of Chair for Communications, I know the communications expectations and timeline for certain events throughout the year.  I feel that I can make a significant contribution to Staff Assembly because I have experience in this position and on the Executive Board. I will continue to advocate for staff interests and for the best interest of the UC community.
