Wellness Walk and Talk Scheduled at Campus, The Promenade

March 8, 2017

Walkers show off their tennis shoes at UC Merced.

UC Merced Staff Assembly recently formed a Wellness Committee to work toward developing a staff wellness program. In an effort to obtain input on what staff members would like to see offered in the wellness program, several campus community members will be holding Wellness Walk and Talk events.

The purpose of the Wellness Walk and Talks is to engage staff for their ideas on desirable wellness activities, programs, resources, workshops, lectures, etc. in four wellness categories: physical, financial, emotional and social. Details regarding Wellness Walk and Talk events this week are as follows:

  • At campus – Wednesday, March 8, noon to 12:30 p.m., led by De Acker. Walkers will meet in front of Kolligian Library;
  • The Promenade - Wednesday, March 8 from noon to 12:30 p.m., led by Colleen McCormick. Walkers will meet in The Promenade lobby area.

Wellness Walk and Talks are also planned at the main campus at noon March 16 and March 21, to be led by Acker, and another at The Promenade March 15 at noon with McCormick and Ellington. Details for additional Walk and Talk events will be added as they are scheduled, so stay tuned. Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your ideas.

Please join us to provide your input, and we look forward to meeting with everyone.
