Join Chancellor Dorothy Leland at 9 a.m. Friday for UC Merced’s second annual Staff Convocation in the Dr. Lakireddy Auditorium.
Staff Convocation provides an opportunity to kick off the new academic year and hear from Chancellor Leland and members of her leadership team. During the Staff Convocation, Chancellor Leland will present a State of the University address, while Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Tom Peterson and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Charles Nies deliver brief updates regarding 2016-17 faculty and students, respectively.
All staff members are strongly encouraged to attend the 90-minute event, and managers and supervisors are similarly encouraged to allow staff members release time in order to attend. Use this link to RSVP. The deadline to RSVP is Aug. 17.
Off-campus staff members at satellite locations are encouraged to carpool. Parking enforcement will be relaxed from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Lake Lots 1 and 2 and Evolution Valley Lot.
Chancellor Leland and UC Merced Staff Assembly also will announce the winners of the 2016 Staff Excellence Awards. Each year, the Staff Excellence Awards recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements and meritorious service of staff members nominated by their peers. Each award recipient receives a crystal award and $500 (subject to tax). Award recipients’ names will be added to a perpetual plaque displayed in the administrative wing of the Leo and Dottie Kolligian Library.
Immediately following Staff Convocation, a reception will be held in the first-floor Lantern of Kolligian Library.
