Dear membership,

It’s that time of the year where I say goodbye to you as President of Staff Assembly.  Over the past year, I have had the wonderful opportunity to represent staff at UC Merced both at the local level here on campus and at the systemwide level as delegate of the Council of University of California Staff Assemblies (CUCSA).

During this past year Staff Assembly created a President’s Newsletter, organized three Town Halls, two Career Tracks Forums, and a CUCSA Staff Engagement Survey Roadshow.  We have also placed staff representation on 19 committees and 4 executive searches, met with Chancellor Leland on a quarterly basis, participated in the campus budget submission process and awarded our first $1,000 scholarship to a child of a UC Merced staff member.  All of this, coupled with our annual events such as the Canned Food Drive, Staff Excellence Awards, Staff Appreciation Week Picnic, First Fridays/First Wednesdays and the launch of our new website and logo, provided for a busy and rewarding year. 

A new Staff Assembly Executive Board begins meeting in July 2013, and with that I transition into the Past President position.  But, before I move on, I have one remaining task and that is to glean your insight and opinion into the organization of Staff Assembly.

Please complete this short survey (six questions) by July 15 to provide Staff Assembly with feedback on its annual programs and events.  Information provided will help move the organization of Staff Assembly forward in its efforts promoting the interests and well-being of all staff members at UC Merced.
